When to start
NHS guidance is to start solid food at around six months, when a baby can sit up with support, hold their head steady and bring food to their mouth. Milk stays the main source of nutrition for the first year.
Purées or baby-led?
Spoon-fed purées give you control over quantity; baby-led weaning offers soft finger foods and lets the baby set the pace. Many families do both, and so do we — we follow whichever approach you're using at home so your baby isn't switching between two systems.
Allergens and safety
Common allergens are introduced one at a time, at home first, then recorded on your child's plan with us. Our kitchens hold a 5-star food hygiene rating and every allergy or dietary requirement is written into an individual plan shared with the room team.
